Since 1933 Rocefeller Center started the tree lighting tradition. The tree height usually ranges from 69-100 feet tall and the Tree comes from Norway Spruce.

  • What does Manhattan mean?:

Who knew ‘Manhattan’ had a meaning. Coming from the Algonquian language that came from the Le Nape Native Americans. The Inhabitants the area. Manhattan means “Island Of Many Hills”

In 1808 Manhattan received their first Fire Hydrant on William and Liberty street. In 1817 they upgraded to Iron-made Hydrants.
